DraftKings is getting ready for the NFL season with a large expansion of its prediction market products. The company’s exchange, Railbird Exchange, known as DKeX, has filed nine new football contract categories with federal regulators.
The filings were submitted to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Aug. 10. They cover a wide range of football betting style markets.
The new contracts include game winners, point spreads, and total points markets. These mirror common bets found on sportsbooks.
The filings also include player and team statistic markets. These let users trade on whether a player or team hits a certain statistical target.
Other categories cover in-game achievements, head-to-head player comparisons, season awards, and outright competition winners. The contracts apply to both the NFL and college football, including the College Football Playoff.
New Contracts Set for Certification
The nine football categories are scheduled to become certified on Aug. 12. Once certified, DraftKings can begin listing them for trading.
The filings resemble much of what a typical mobile sportsbook offers during football season. This includes spreads, totals, and player props.
DraftKings CEO Jason Robins spoke about the exchange’s growth during the company’s second quarter earnings call last week. He said the football season would bring in a large number of new customers.
Robins said he expects “millions and millions” of customers to try the exchange once the NFL season begins. He called it the company’s biggest season for the product so far.
DraftKings has already seen fast growth in its prediction market business this year. Annualized trading volume rose from $2.3 billion in April to $11 billion in July.
More than 600,000 customers have used the product so far in 2026. Robins said adoption has moved faster than the company expected.
Combo Contracts Add to Trading Volume
The football filing came three days after DKeX certified its COMBOS product. A combo contract lets a user combine at least two separate contracts into a single trade.
COMBOS work like parlays on a traditional sportsbook. The product became certified on Aug. 11, one day before most of the new football contracts.
DraftKings Predictions already offers combo products using Crypto.com’s exchange infrastructure. Robins said more than half of Predictions customers have used combos.
He added that combo trades make up about 20% of total consumer trading volume on the platform. Moving these products to DKeX lets DraftKings handle more of its own trading volume in house.
Robins told analysts the company plans to bring most of its major sports contracts onto its own exchange over time. He said the shift should help improve the unit economics of the business.
The football contracts add to a growing list of sports and event markets already offered through DKeX. The exchange continues to expand its self-certified product list as the NFL season approaches.
