Gaming Corps has secured a conditional iGaming supplier licence from Alberta’s gaming regulator, positioning the studio to enter the Canadian province’s market when it opens next month.
The Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis commission granted the licence to Gaming Corps Malta Ltd. It authorizes the company to manufacture and supply gaming software in the province.
Alberta’s regulated iGaming market is scheduled to launch on 13 July 2026. Gaming Corps will be ready to operate from the first day.
The approval means Alberta-based operators will have access to Gaming Corps’ library of casino games. The company’s proprietary game mechanics will also be available to players in the province.
Gaming Corps Pushes Deeper Into North America
The Alberta licence is part of a broader push by Gaming Corps into North American markets. The company has been working to expand its footprint across regulated jurisdictions.
Alex Lorimer, COO at Gaming Corps, said the licence marks another step in the company’s regulated market expansion strategy. He described Canada as a key growth region for the studio.
Lorimer added that the company is excited to bring its expanding portfolio of games and unique mechanics to operators and players in Alberta.
Gaming Corps has been building out its presence in multiple regulated markets. The Alberta approval adds another jurisdiction to that list.
The company’s strategy has focused on entering markets early. Being licensed ahead of Alberta’s launch date gives Gaming Corps a first-mover advantage in the province.
Alberta Set to Become Canada’s Second Open iGaming Market
Alberta is on track to become the second Canadian province with an open, regulated iGaming framework. Ontario currently holds that distinction as the first.
The AGLC is responsible for overseeing all licensing and compliance requirements. Both operators and suppliers must meet the commission’s standards to participate in the market.
The July launch date gives licensed suppliers and operators roughly two months to finalize their preparations. Gaming Corps appears to have completed a key part of that process.
Ontario’s regulated iGaming market has been operational since April 2022. Alberta’s entry could expand the overall size of Canada’s legal online gambling sector.
The Canadian iGaming landscape has been evolving steadily. More provinces are exploring regulatory frameworks for online gambling.
For Gaming Corps, the Alberta licence reinforces its commitment to operating in regulated environments. The company continues to pursue approvals in jurisdictions that are opening up to legal iGaming.
The regulated market launch on 13 July 2026 will mark a new chapter for Alberta’s gaming industry. Gaming Corps will be among the suppliers ready to serve operators on that date.
