Konami Gaming Inc has received ISO 27001 certification for its information security management system. The certification applies to two of the company’s core products.
Those products are the Synkros casino management system and the Konami Online Interactive iGaming platform. Both now fall under the same information security standard.
Schellman & Co LLC carried out the certification process. The firm is based in the United States and is accredited by ANAB and UKAS.
Schellman is also a member of the International Accreditation Forum. ISO 27001 is a globally recognized standard for managing information security risks.
The standard requires companies to build, run, and improve a security management system. That system must be based on the organization’s specific business risks.
Synkros System Included In Audit
Konami Gaming is based in Las Vegas. It is a subsidiary of Japan-listed Konami Group Corp and supplies casino games and technology worldwide.
Synkros is one of the systems covered under the new certification. Tom Soukup, the company’s senior vice president and chief systems product officer, spoke about the process.
Soukup said the certification is part of the company’s ongoing work on data privacy and security. He said research, quality assurance, and customer support teams all help maintain strong security practices for Synkros.
Several departments took part in the audit. These included human resources, systems, marketing, technical compliance, security, and IT staff.
Online Gaming Platform Covered
The certification also extends to Konami Online Interactive. This covers how the platform is developed, deployed, and operated.
Eduardo Aching, vice president of iGaming and international gaming operations, called the certification a milestone. He linked it to the company’s continued focus on security and player protection.
The online platform now sits within the same security framework as Synkros. iGaming teams were included in the audit alongside the teams that support the casino management system.
Brian Alu, vice president of information technology at Konami Gaming, said the company has long prioritized compliance. He said building the security management system reflects an ongoing commitment to customers, partners, and employees.
The announcement did not mention any changes to Konami Gaming’s products or day-to-day operations. The certification is valid for three years, and surveillance reviews will begin in 2027 as the company continues supplying Synkros and Konami Online Interactive to casino operators.
