LaLiga has officially partnered with Polymarket, the blockchain-based prediction markets platform. The deal makes LaLiga the first European football league to enter the prediction markets space.
Under the agreement, Polymarket becomes the official and exclusive prediction market partner of LaLiga in the United States and Canada. Fans will gain new ways to interact with the league, its clubs, and its players through the platform.
The partnership is part of LaLiga’s broader push to connect with younger audiences in North America. The league has been working to reach more diverse and multicultural fan bases who consume sports across multiple platforms.
LaLiga Targets North American Growth
Boris Gartner, CEO and partner at Relevent, said the development of football in North America is being driven by young and diverse fans. He stressed the importance of moving past traditional engagement models to make the sport more accessible.
Relevent has been working with LaLiga since 2018 through a joint venture focused on international expansion. This new deal with Polymarket is an extension of that strategy.
Polymarket now joins a growing list of LaLiga’s regional partners in North America. That list already includes major brands like Walmart, Lowe’s, McDonald’s, Verizon, Remitly, and Panini.
The agreement covers several areas. Polymarket will receive visibility during broadcasted LaLiga matches across the region.
The platform will also have the ability to create digital and social media content tied to fan interactions. This includes content built around match predictions and player performance.
Beyond digital content, Polymarket will be able to organize special fan experiences. These include VIP matchdays, hospitality events, and virtual meet-and-greets with LaLiga legends.
Polymarket also gains exclusive rights to use LaLiga’s intellectual property in connection with its prediction markets. This gives the platform a direct tie to one of the most-watched football leagues in the world.
Sports Integrity Remains a Priority
Both LaLiga and Polymarket have emphasized the importance of responsible fan engagement. The partnership includes a commitment to maintaining high standards of sports integrity.
Polymarket has built a sports integrity platform in collaboration with Palantir Technologies and TWG AI. This system is designed to monitor and ensure that prediction markets operate within ethical guidelines.
Shayne Coplan, founder and CEO of Polymarket, said the partnership will let fans express their views on players, matches, and the season in real time. He described it as a new format for interacting with one of the most loyal fan communities in the world.
The prediction markets model allows users to place bets on the outcome of real-world events using crypto-based infrastructure. Polymarket has grown rapidly in recent years, especially around political and sports events.
LaLiga has been expanding its commercial footprint outside of Spain for several years. The league sees North America as a key growth market, especially with rising interest in football across the continent.
The partnership was announced on April 6, 2026.
