Hard Rock Bet announced the win on Aug. 17. The company called it the largest payout in its online casino’s history.
The new record beat the previous high by $852,814.10. That earlier win happened on July 4, just over six weeks before this one.

How the Jackpot System Works
Hard Rock Bet runs four jackpot tiers in New Jersey. The Mega starts at $100,000, the Major at $1,000, the Minor at $100, and the Mini at $10.
Players join by adding 10 cents to each bet. That means a $2 spin actually costs $2.10 once a player opts in.
Once opted in, players stay in the jackpot pool until they choose to opt out. The extra dime applies to every spin after that.
The jackpot trigger is random. It does not depend on specific symbols landing or bonus rounds starting.
Hard Rock Bet says stake size does not change the odds of winning. A $1 spin and a $20 spin have the same chance of hitting the jackpot.
Rose M. said she almost missed the win. She told the operator she dismissed the notification because she was in the middle of a spin.
She said she thought her account had a glitch when she saw the balance jump. She called her sister first, then drove to Atlantic City that same night to confirm the payout.
She plans to use the money to help people close to her. She also wants to return to school for a master’s degree and travel to Greece.
New Jersey’s Growing Online Gaming Market
New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement reported online gaming revenue of $276.9 million for July 2026. That is up 12% from $247.3 million in July 2025.
The Mega Jackpot has now paid out about $8.9 million across its four wins. That total is small next to the state’s monthly online gaming revenue of over a quarter of a billion dollars.
The Mega Jackpot has re-seeded at $100,000 and is building toward its next payout. Hard Rock Bet’s New Jersey online casino is run by Seminole Hard Rock Digital, LLC.
The site is limited to players who are 21 or older and physically located in New Jersey. State law requires operators to verify location before allowing real money play.
Other large wins have been reported in the gambling industry this month. One player won $1 million on his porch the day after house hunting.
In Italy, a sanitation crew recovered a lottery ticket worth $1.15 million after it was thrown away over a single word. Casino revenue trends have varied by region, with Reno’s win up 20% while the Las Vegas Strip saw a drop.
