A Powerball player in Delaware has won $1 million after matching all five white numbers in the Monday, November 2 drawing. The jackpot was not won, and it has now passed the $800 million mark.
The Delaware ticket was the only Match 5 winner in Monday’s drawing. The player was one number away from the jackpot, missing only the red Powerball.
Winning Numbers and Prize Breakdown
The winning white numbers drawn on November 2 were 7, 23, 29, 64, and 66. The red Powerball was 23.
The Power Play multiplier for the drawing was 4x. This raised the value of several lower-tier prizes for players who had added the feature to their tickets.
A total of 19 players matched four white numbers plus the Powerball. This is the third prize tier in the game.
Of those 19 players, 16 did not have Power Play on their tickets. Each of them won $50,000.
The other three players had Power Play turned on. With the 4x multiplier, each of them won $200,000 instead.
Power Play is an optional add-on that multiplies non-jackpot prizes. It does not change the size of the jackpot itself.
Recent Match 5 Winners in the US and UK
Monday’s $1 million win follows several other recent Match 5 prizes. The Saturday, October 31 drawing produced two winners of $1 million each.
One of the October 31 prizes went to a player in Georgia. The other went to a player in the United Kingdom.
The UK only recently began offering Powerball. The October 31 win is the latest seven-figure prize claimed by a UK player.
Before that, a player in Florida and another in Georgia each won $1 million. Both had matched five white numbers but missed the Powerball.
The October 21 drawing had three Match 5 winners. Two of those players won $2 million each, since a Match 5 prize with Power Play is set at $2 million.
If a player had matched all six numbers on Monday, they would have won an $804 million jackpot. The one-time cash option for that prize was $344.6 million.
Since no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot rolled over once again. Jackpot winners can choose either the cash option or an annuity paid out over 30 payments.
The estimated jackpot for the Wednesday, November 4 drawing is now $835 million. The estimated cash option is $357.9 million.
