The Argentine province of Córdoba now has an official online horse racing platform. Córdoba Turf was launched by Lotería de la Provincia de Córdoba, the provincial lottery operator.
The platform debuted during the Clásico San Jerónimo, a traditional race held at the Jockey Club de Córdoba. The event brought together the province’s racing history and a new digital channel for the sport.
David Urreta, president of Lotería de Córdoba, attended the launch. Online Gaming Deputy Manager Ivan Vaiarini was also present.
How Córdoba Turf Works
Córdoba Turf is designed to give more people digital access to horse racing. It also serves as an official online betting platform for races in the province.
Access to the platform is free. Only adults aged 18 and older are allowed to use it.
The lottery said the goal is to support the growth of the local racing sector. It also wants to help the people and institutions that take part in racing in Córdoba.
The project is part of a wider effort by the lottery operator to develop its services. It aims to create new ways for the public to interact with the lottery.
Lottery Agencies Add Tourism Services
Alongside the Córdoba Turf launch, Lotería de Córdoba has been expanding its “Experiencia Lotería” program. The initiative offers training sessions for owners of agencies in the lottery’s network.
The program aims to improve agency owners’ business knowledge. It also gives them new tourism-related products and services to sell to customers.
The first training session took place in the drawing hall at the lottery’s headquarters. It was organized by the lottery’s Commercial Deputy Management.
Tourism specialists Alejandro Lastra and Gisela Piazza led the session. They gave guidance on product promotion, customer advice and sales strategies for different target groups.
Lastra explained how agency owners could connect customers with tourism options. “The idea is for lottery agents to recommend and bring tourism opportunities closer to their customers, helping to build customer loyalty while also promoting tourism in the province,” he said.
He added that the lottery wants agency owners to take on a new role. “We want to create new opportunities for agency owners to also become tourism advisers, bringing these proposals to the general public and supporting the development of Córdoba’s tourism sector from their own locations,” Lastra said.
Lotería de Córdoba describes “Experiencia Lotería” as part of a larger change to its official agency network. The plan links the agencies’ current business to a wider range of services, experiences and entertainment.
According to the organization, the program gives agency owners new business opportunities. It also connects their sales activity with the province’s tourism and entertainment products.
The lottery is now growing in two directions: digital horse racing through Córdoba Turf, and a broader offering through its retail agency network. Córdoba Turf is now live, with free access for users aged 18 and older.
