TLDR
- Brazil’s betting platforms saw 98.64% of all visits come from smartphones in Q1 2026, with desktops accounting for just 1.36%
- The Brazilian iGaming market recorded 6.28 billion total visits in the first three months of 2026
- Mobile platforms alone generated 6.19 billion visits, while desktops received only 85.4 million
- Neighboring countries like Peru (85% mobile), Chile (81%), and Ecuador (72%) still rely far more on desktop access
- Brazil’s mobile dominance is driven by smartphone adoption, social media habits, and mobile-friendly betting platforms
Brazil’s online betting market has become almost entirely mobile, with smartphone usage accounting for nearly 99% of all platform visits in the first quarter of 2026.
Research from Aposta Legal’s “Bets Panel” found that 98.64% of visits to Brazilian betting sites came from mobile devices during Q1 2026. Desktop computers made up just 1.36% of total traffic.
The data covers the period from January through March of this year. It was gathered across the country’s full iGaming ecosystem.
Mobile Dominance Dwarfs Desktop Numbers
In raw numbers, Brazilian betting platforms received about 6.28 billion visits in Q1 2026. Of those, mobile devices were responsible for roughly 6.19 billion.
Desktop visits totaled around 85.4 million. While that figure is large on its own, it represents a tiny fraction of the overall market.
The shift toward mobile has been driven by widespread smartphone adoption across Brazil. Social media use and the growth of mobile apps have also played a role.
Betting operators have responded by building mobile-friendly websites and interfaces. Features like signing up, making deposits, placing bets, checking live odds, and withdrawing funds are now handled almost entirely on phones.
The popularity of watching live sports on mobile devices has further pushed users toward phone-based betting. For many Brazilians, betting platforms have become part of their daily phone routine.
This level of mobile integration helps explain the high frequency of activity seen in the Brazilian market.
How Brazil Compares to Its Neighbors
The picture looks different in other Latin American countries. In Peru, mobile devices account for 85% of betting traffic, with desktops handling 15%.
Chile sees 81% mobile usage and 19% desktop. Ecuador has an even wider split, with just 72% of traffic coming from mobile and 28% from desktop.
These numbers show that a multi-platform approach is still common across much of the region. Desktop betting remains a regular habit for users in Peru, Chile, and Ecuador.
The gap between Brazil and its neighbors is striking when put into context. Chile’s desktop share is 13.79 times higher than Brazil’s. Ecuador’s is 20.59 times higher.
Total traffic volumes also set Brazil apart. Peru recorded 253 million visits during the same period. Chile had 72.38 million. Ecuador logged 15.28 million.
Brazil’s 6.28 billion visits dwarf those figures entirely. The market’s size and mobile concentration are both far ahead of neighboring countries.
The data suggests that Brazilian operators have little reason to invest heavily in desktop experiences. The user base has made its preference clear.
Aposta Legal’s Q1 2026 research positions Brazil as one of the most mobile-concentrated betting markets in the world, with desktop usage falling below 1.4% of all traffic.
