- Angel Di María and Maxi Rodríguez, both from Rosario, are the faces of the campaign

- The casino also extends responsible gambling messaging to its online platform
- The campaign reflects growing operator awareness efforts across Latin America
Angel Di María and Maxi Rodríguez are fronting a responsible gambling campaign run by Casino City Center Rosario, timed to coincide with the FIFA World Cup 2026.
This is the second phase of a campaign the casino first launched earlier in 2026. Both footballers were chosen because they are from Rosario and are well-known figures in Argentine football.
Di María is currently playing for Rosario Central and remains part of the Argentine national squad. He was part of the team that won the FIFA World Cup in 2022 and two Copa América titles.
Rodríguez had a long career with the national team from 2003 to 2015. He scored a crucial penalty against Holland at the 2014 World Cup, helping Argentina reach the final.
Why the World Cup Timing Matters
Major international tournaments bring a large number of new bettors into the market. Many of these players have little or no experience with gambling, which increases the risk of problem gambling.
City Center Rosario used this moment to highlight the legal, financial, and social responsibilities that come with betting. The campaign focuses on two key messages: gambling is for adults only, and it should be done safely.
The casino stated: “Betting is an activity exclusively for individuals over the age of 18.”
Campaign Extends to Online Gambling
City Center Rosario also runs an online platform called City Center Online. The responsible gambling push covers that platform too.
The casino said it uses various tools on its site to promote safe play. It described its goal as offering “a safe, transparent, and regulated entertainment environment.”
This matters because online betting has grown quickly across Latin America. More countries in the region have passed laws allowing both land-based and online gambling operations in recent years.
That growth has brought more sportsbooks and betting platforms to the market. With more access, operators and regulators have increased their focus on protecting vulnerable users.
By using Di María and Rodríguez, the casino aimed to reach a broad audience. Both players are respected across generations and across the country, not just in Rosario.
The campaign is one of several awareness initiatives that have emerged in the region as gambling becomes more mainstream.
City Center Rosario said the campaign reinforces its role as a responsible operator. It aims to keep gambling safe and regulated as interest in betting grows around the World Cup.
