Konami Group reported mixed results in its gaming and systems division for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. Revenue in the segment edged up slightly, but operating profit was cut by more than half compared to the year before.
The gaming and systems division brought in nearly JPY43.08 billion, which is roughly US$274.9 million. That marked a 1% increase over the JPY42.67 billion posted in the prior year.
Operating profit told a different story. The division’s operating profit dropped 50.4% to JPY3.65 billion. The operating margin shrank from around 17% to approximately 8%.
The gaming segment covers Konami’s casino slot machine business and casino floor-management systems. The company also launched Konami Online Interactive last October as what it called the third pillar of its gaming business.
Konami operates its casino gaming business outside Japan through Konami Australia Pty Ltd and Konami Gaming Inc in the United States. The company said both the North American and Australian markets remained stable during the period.
New Products and Cabinet Launch
One of the key developments during the year was the release of the Solstice 49C. Konami described it as its first new cabinet model in roughly six years and the start of the Solstice series.
The company said Solstice series cabinets performed well during the year. Bomberman-themed titles, which draw on Konami’s own intellectual property, were among the games featured on the new platform.
In Australia, Konami said its Bull Rush Stampede series gained popularity. The company noted that competing manufacturers also brought new slot products to market, creating placement opportunities across both regions.
On the systems side, Konami reported continued expansion of its Synkros casino management platform. New installations were completed at casino properties in California and New Mexico, as well as on cruise ships.
The company also expanded Synk Vision, its facial recognition solution for slot machine players, to table games. Konami said this expansion would improve convenience for both operators and players.
Outlook and Group Results
Looking ahead, Konami projected gaming and systems revenue of approximately JPY46 billion for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027. It also estimated operating profit of JPY6.5 billion for the same period, which would represent a recovery from the current year.
The broader Konami Group performed well beyond its gaming division. Group-wide revenue for the 12 months rose 17.1% year-on-year to nearly JPY493.68 billion.
Group profit reached nearly JPY100.01 billion, an increase of 33.9% from the prior year. The results showed that Konami’s wider portfolio delivered growth even as the gaming segment dealt with thinner margins.
Konami also announced a final dividend of JPY138.50 for the fiscal year, payable on June 4. That was up from JPY107.50 a year earlier.
The dividend increase came alongside broader strength across the company’s multiple business lines. The gaming division’s profit decline stood in contrast to the rest of the group’s performance during the same period.
Konami’s gaming and systems division is projected to reach JPY46 billion in revenue and JPY6.5 billion in operating profit in fiscal 2027.
